`
` V.
`VEGA, JOSE
`
`SUPERIOR COURT
`
`HOUSING SESSION
` AT HARTFORD
`
`1/24/2024
`
`ORDER 409859
`
`ORDER
`
`ORDER REGARDING:
`12/22/2023 108.00 MOTION TO OPEN JUDGMENT AFTER DEFAULT OR NONSUIT (SUMMARY
`PROCESS/EVICTION) JD-HM-042
`
`The foregoing, having been considered by the Court, is hereby:
`
`ORDER: DENIED
`
`After the motion was referred to mediation and the defendant failed to appear, the court denies the
`motion to open. Pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. § 52-212 and P.B. § 17-43, the court cannot find that the
`defendant made a showing that a good cause of action existed and that he was prevented from asserting a
`valid defense due to the type of accident or mistake that courts have interpreted as a sufficient ground for
`opening a judgment pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. § 52-212 and P.B. § 17-43. See Segretario v. Stewart-
`Warner Corp., 9 Conn. App. 355, 363, 519 A.2d 76 (1986). Accordingly, the motion is denied.
