`C.A. No. 2023-1060-NAC
`
`Dear Counsel:
`
`This letter confirms that oral argument on Plaintiff’s Motion to Compel, or in
`
`the Alternative, to Strike is scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1:30 pm.
`
`Oral argument will take place as a web-based video conference using Zoom.
`
`My chambers will provide the parties with the meeting identification number and
`
`password. Any interested members of the press or the public seeking to attend the
`
`hearing shall contact chambers in advance of the hearing to obtain the meeting
`
`identification number and password. These credentials are confidential and shall not
`
`be shared without prior permission of the court.
`
`By no later than 4:00 p.m., one business day before the hearing, the parties
`
`shall submit jointly to chambers a list of persons they expect to attend the hearing.
`
`During the hearing, counsel may display documents using the screen-sharing

`
`function, but please experiment using that function in advance to avoid inadvertently
`
`sharing your personal information with all in attendance.
`
`The hearing will begin with a waiting room moderated by my chambers. As
`
`host of the meeting, my chambers will grant admission only to those participants
`
`appearing on the list provided by counsel along with members of the press and public
`
`who have contacted chambers per the instructions provided in this letter. Only
`
`authenticated users may join, so all attendees must register for and sign in to Zoom
`
`with the email address counsel provided. Please sign up for this service at
`
`https://zoom.us/signup. The free “Basic” plan will suffice. To
`
`facilitate
`
`identification and admittance from the waiting room, attendees are encouraged to
`
`use the name provided to chambers for their Zoom account.
`
`Counsel presenting in the hearing are asked to join the meeting no later than
`
`ten minutes prior to the hearing’s scheduled time to allow our court reporters to
`
`conduct a sound check. All other attendees are asked to join the meeting no later
`
`than five minutes prior to the hearing’s scheduled time. The hearing will be locked
`
`for security purposes five minutes before the hearing is scheduled to begin, so
`
`do not arrive late.
`
`No one may record the hearing.

`
`All attendees shall mute their lines upon joining the meeting. During the
`
`meeting, only counsel presenting argument or otherwise addressing the court need
`
`connect using video. Others must choose the “audio only” option or simply check
`
`the “Stop Video” function. Counsel will need to remember to unmute their lines
`
`when it is their turn to speak. If counsel believes that it is necessary to address the
`
`court during another speaker’s presentation (for example, to raise confidentiality
`
`concerns), counsel shall verbally interject in as respectful a manner as possible. I
`
`retain the ability to mute participants.
`
`Best practices are recommended: sit in a quiet place with reliable connectivity
`
`and test your equipment first. For those appearing by video, court attire is expected.
`
`Sincerely,
`
