UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
`BEFORE THE
`FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION
`
`)
`PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. ) Docket No. ER08-858-000
`
`)
`
`MOTION OF THE NEW JERSEY BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES
`FOR AN EXTENSION OF TIME
`
`Pursuant to Rules 212 and 2008 of the Commission's Rules of Practice and
`Procedure, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (“NJBPU”) hereby requests an
`extension of time to file comments until May 23, 2008. In support of this motion, the
`NJBPU states as follows:
`
`1. The Commission’s April 25, 2008 Combined Notice of Filings #1 set a date of
`May 13, 2008 for Comments in the above referenced docket.
`
`2. The NJBPU, pursuant to its obligation to require safe, adequate and proper
`service' at just and reasonable rates,” wishes to comment in the above referenced
`docket. As a state administrative agency with jurisdiction over New Jersey’s
`public utilities, the NJBPU has a unique interest in this proceeding.
`
`3. This proceeding has arisen because of the expiration of two contracts designed to
`
`wheel power between Public Service Electric and Gas Company (“PSE&G”) and
`
`"N.J.S.A. 48:2-23.
`*N.J.S.A. 48:2-21.
`
`
`
`
`
`
`
`
`Consolidated Edison Company of New York (“ConED”). The wheel appears to
`run through northern New Jersey, currently one of the most congested areas in
`PJM. As such, the NJBPU needs additional time to review the petition and
`examine its impacts on New Jersey.
`
`4. The petition in this matter was filed on April 22, 2008, and due to other matters
`pending before the NJBPU or with which the NJBPU is involved, the NJBPU has
`not been able to complete its review of the petition and examine its impacts on
`New Jersey. Therefore, the NJBPU requests an extension of time to file
`comments. The granting of this request will not prejudice the petitioner, as the
`petition seeks an effective date of May 1, 2012.
`
`WHEREFORE, the NJBPU requests that the Commission grant an extension of time for
`the filing of Comments until May 23, 2008.
`
`Respectfully submitted,
`
`ANNE MILGRAM
