UNITED STATES INTERNATIONAL TRADE COMMISSION
`WASHINGTON, DC
`
`
`
`Before the Honorable Charles E. Bullock
`Chief Administrative Law Judge

`
`
`Investigation No. 337-TA-936
`
`RESPONDENT’S UNOPPOSED MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME
`TO RESPOND TO THE COMPLAINT AND NOTICE OF INVESTIGATION
`
`Pursuant to Commission Rules 210.13(a), 210.15(d), and Ground Rule 1.8, Respondent
`
`PW Shoes, Inc. (“PW”) hereby moves for an extension of time to and including
`
`December 19, 2014, to file its Response to the Complaint and Notice of Investigation.1
`
`
`
`Ground Rule 3.2 Certification
`
`Pursuant to Ground Rule 3.2, PW certifies that it has made reasonable, good faith
`
`efforts to contact Complainant Converse, Inc. (“Converse”) and OUII and resolve this matter
`
`prior to filing this Motion. Both Converse and OUII have indicated that they do not oppose the
`
`requested extension.2
`
`
`
`ARGUMENT
`
`Based upon the date of service, PW’s deadline for answering the Complaint and
`
`Notice of Investigation is December 3, 2014. In the interest of maximizing efficiency as well as
`
`to promote judicial economy, PW makes this request for an extension of time so that it may provide
`
`
`1 Pursuant to Ground Rule 3.1, footnote 2, Respondent understands that no separate memorandum of points and authorities is
`necessary.
`
`2 Since the motion is unopposed, PW respectfully requests that the Chief ALJ waive the two business day requirement under
`Ground Rule 3.2.
`
`

`
`a more complete Response to the Complaint and Notice of Investigation. Given the early stage of this
`
`Investigation, the requested extension will not prejudice any of the parties or cause undue delay
`
`of these proceedings. PW submits that good cause exists to grant the requested extension.
`
`Extensions of time for Respondents to respond to the complaint and notice of investigation may
`
`be granted by the Administrative Law Judge. See Commission Rule 210.13(a).
`
`Indeed, unopposed motions for extensions of time to respond to the complaint and notice of
`
`investigation are frequently granted for good cause. See Certain Optoelectronic Devices for
`
`Fiber Optic Communications, Components Thereof, and Products Containing Same, Inv. No.
`
`337-TA-860, Order Nos. 3, 4, and 5 (Nov. 14-15, 2012); Certain Electronic Imaging Devices,
`
`Inv. No. 337-TA-850, Order No. 4 (July 12, 2012); Certain CMOS Image Sensors and Products
`
`Containing the Same, Inv. No. 337-TA-846, Order No. 3 (June 22, 2012); Certain Computer and
`
`Computer Peripheral Devices and Components Containing Same, Inv. No. 337-TA-841, Order
`
`Nos. 3-11 (May 14-21, 2012); Certain Consumer Electronics and Display Devices and Products
`
`Containing Same, Inv. No. 337-TA-836, Order No. 4 (Apr. 26, 2012).
`
`Based on the foregoing, PW submits that good cause exists to extend PW’s period for responding
`
`to the Complaint and Notice of Investigation to December 19, 2014.
`
`

`
`Dated: December 1, 2014
`
`
`
`
`
`
`
`Respectfully submitted,
