`
`Hi Adam
`
`Wednesday is extremely tight, schedule-wise, for Mark —Thursday afternoon is better for him. The only time Mark
`has free, between meetings, is 12:30 to 1pm (lunch break for him). When I spoke to Mark about this, he referred me
`to Naomi and Registry. He saidthe name didn‘t ring any bells at all with him but records would have to be checked
`to be sure - which Naomi has already done and concurs that no such person was ever being awarded a PhD from
`here.
`
`Naomi said she had to go to a meeting (earlier) this afternoon but she was going to contact you directly with her
`findings by email, hopefully today, if not tomorrow.

`
`Hi Patti -
`
`i wasn't sure exactly who Naomi
`Thanks for getting back to me.
`had checked with and the client was getting nervous (not a pretty
`thing to see a big company get nervous).
`
`Assuming I can do it, do you think Mark see me for a few minutes
`Wednesday as well ?

`
`Hi Adam
`
`Apparently one of our employees, Naomi Bailey, who is the Programmes Administrator for our PhD
`programmes has been looking into this matter for you as well. She said there is absolutely no record ofa
`student named Alon Konchitsky...or anything close to that....having studied and being awarded. a PhD
`here in Electronic Engineering in 2002 at Bournemouth University before or after — and she has records of
`PhD awards going back to the early 1990‘s. Naomi has already spoken to Professor Jim Roach about this
`and they confirmed that there is no dissertation in the DEC PhD Dissertation library for Alon Konchitsky
`either. As far as (Dean) Jim Roach, Naomi Bailey and Prof. Mark Hadfield are concerned, they have
`absolutely no knowledge of anyone by that name ever being awarded a PhD in Electronic Engineering
`through the (former) School of Design, Engineering & Computing at Bournemouth University — which is the
`only place at Bournemouth University he would have studied Electronic Engineering.
`| just spoke to Jim
`about this as well and he told me, “we don’t have any record of anyone by that name having been awarded
`PhD from us.” Jim also confirmed that PhD students in the School of Design, Engineering & Computing
`would have to have been on site here ~ there is no way he would have been studying from lsrael or
`anywhere else. He would have to have been supervised and meeting regularly with his supervisor(s) on
`site and his PhD VIVA would have taken place here as well.
`
`Jim just read your email and he said you're welcome to stop by if you’re here but he said he doesn‘t have
`- anything more he can tell you other than we never heard of Alon Konchitsky and there is no record of him
`having studied here and being awarded a PhD from us.

`

`Thanks for helping out in this Alon Konchltsky matter.
`
`I spoke with the client and they would like me to meet with Dean Roach,
`Deputy Dean Hatfield and yourself as soon as possible to see if we can't
`nail down this issue and possibly find documents or other proof showing
`what programs Bournemouth offered at that time, whether he attended
`and what the procedures were for Phd students at that time.
`
`As I said, ifl leave Los Angeles for London tonight I could be in Bournemouth
`by late morning Wednesday so anytime after that would be great.
`
`Again, thank you very much for your assistance.
