`PETITIONER’S REQUEST FOR ORAL HEARING

`

`
`
` Case No. IPR2017-01685
`Patent No. 7,804,948
`
`The Board tentatively scheduled oral hearing for this proceeding for October
`
`16, 2018. Paper 11. Pursuant to 37 C.F.R. § 42.70(a), Petitioner requests oral
`
`hearing on the instituted grounds of unpatentability in this proceeding, including
`
`whether claims 1-4, 6-8, 18, 21, and 22 of the ’948 are unpatentable over Tanigawa
`
`and Liversidge. Petitioner also requests oral hearing on any issues raised by Patent
`
`Owner in its Request for Oral Hearing, as well as any issues raised in any motion
`
`to exclude.
`
`Today, Petitioner is also filing requests for oral hearing in two related cases:
`
`IPR2017-01684 (U.S. Patent No. 7,853,000) and IPR2017-01683 (U.S. Patent No.
`
`8,571,194). Because the three IPRs are related, Petitioner proposes 45 minutes per
`
`side for consolidated argument on all three patents, but if the Board chooses not to
`
`consolidate the arguments, Petitioner proposes 30 minutes per side for the closely
`
`related ’000/’948 patents (the -01685 and -01684 proceedings) and 30 minutes per
`
`side for the ’194 patent (the -01683 proceeding). In any event, Petitioner requests
`
`an amount of argument time equal to that granted to Patent Owner.
`
`Petitioner requests that four spaces be reserved at the oral hearing to
`
`accommodate its counsel and corporate representatives. Petitioner also requests
`
`that three of its attorneys be allowed to use computers.
