`Case IPR2017-02064
`U.S. Patent 7,113,502
`
`I.
`
`Introduction
`Petitioner Sony Corporation and Patent Owner ARRIS Enterprises LLC and
`
`Real Party-in-Interest ARRIS International plc have entered into a settlement
`
`agreement that resolves all underlying disputes between the parties, including this
`
`proceeding. In an email dated December 21, 2017, the Board authorized the
`
`parties to file a copy of the final settlement agreement and a joint request to file the
`
`final settlement agreement as confidential business information. As required by the
`
`Board, the parties are submitting a true copy of the agreement (Ex. 1012).
`
`II. Relief Requested
`If requested, the rules permit the parties to have any filed settlement
`
`agreement treated as business confidential information and kept separate from the
`
`files of the involved patent. 37 C.F.R. § 42.74(c).
`
`Pursuant to 37 C.F.R. § 42.74(c), Petitioner and Patent Owner jointly request
`
`that the Office treat the agreement (Ex. 1012) as business confidential information,
`
`that it be kept separate from the file of the involved patent, and that the agreement
`
`be made available only to Federal Government agencies on written request, or to
`
`other persons only on a showing of good cause.
