`Pursuant to 37 CPR. § 42.10 and the Notice authorizing leave to file this
`
`motion (Paper No. 4), Patent Owner mSIGNIA, Inc. (“Patent Owner”) requests
`
`that the Board admit Jason T. Lao pro hac vice in this proceeding.
`
`Statement of Facts Showing Good Cause for the Board to
`Recognize Counsel pro hac vice During the Proceeding
`
`In accordance with 37 CPR. § 4210(0), the Board may recognize counsel
`
`pro hac vice during a proceeding upon a showing of good cause, subject to the
`
`condition that lead counsel be a registered practitioner and to any other conditions
`
`as the Board may impose. Section 42.10(c) indicates that, “where lead counsel is a
`
`registered practitioner, a motion to appear pro hac vice may be granted upon a
`
`showing that counsel is an experienced litigating attorney and has established
`
`familiarity with the subject matter at issue in the proceeding.” The facts here
`
`establish good cause for the Board to recognize Jason T. Lao pro hac vice during
`
`this proceeding.
`
`1. Lead Counsel, Thomas B. King, is a registered practitioner.
`
`2. Jason T. Lao is an experienced litigator and has an established familiarity with
`the subject matter at issue in the proceeding.

`3. Attached to this motion as Exhibit 2002 is the Declaration of Jason T. Lao,
`
`where he attests, inter alia, that he is a member of good standing of the Bar for
`
`the State of California, US District Court for the Central District of California,
`
`

`US. District Court for the Southern District of California, US. District Court
`
`for the Northern District of California, and the US. District Court for the
`
`Eastern District of Texas.

`4. Mr. Lao further attests that he has been litigating patent cases for five years.

`5. Mr. Lao further attests that he is familiar with the subject matter at issue in this
`
`proceeding. He is counsel for Patent Owner in the underlying district court
`
`proceedings: Case No. 8: l7-cv-01289 in the Central District of California.
`
`6. In his Declaration, Mr. Lao also attests to each of the listed items required by 37
`
`C.F.R. § 42.10(c).
`
`Conclusion
`
`For the foregoing reasons, Patent Owner respectfully requests that the Board
`
`admit Jason T. Lao pro hac vice in this proceeding.
