`PRESS RELEASE:
`
`Nokia introduces the new Nokia 9000i Communicator for GSM markets (November 5, 1997)

`
`The Nokia 9000i Communicator. It’s a phone and a fax, e-mail and the World Wide Web, a
`calendar and a notepad. All you need to communicate, all working together in a Communicator that
`fits in your pocket.
`
`ALL TOGETHER NOW
`
`All the applications work together - no cables, no adapters, no problem.
`
`Receive a message by e-mail and forward it by telefax.
`
`Send a fax and then call to discuss it handsfree while reading it on the screen.
`
`Send a message to several recipients, by fax, by e-mail, and by Short Message Service (SMS).
`
`Connect to a printer or a notebook PC using the built-in infrared link.
`
`With the phone turned off - in an airplane or in a meeting - write e-mail messages and send them
`all at once when you turn the phone back on.
`
`The Nokia 9000i is a lot more than a lot of applications - because they all work together.
`
`ONE FOR ALL
`
`There is one interface for all of the applications. Learn one and you know them all.
`
`There is one database for all your contacts: phone and fax numbers, street and e-mail addresses.
`Type them in once and you have all you need, wherever you go.
`
`There is one database for all your notes, faxes and messages. Write a note once and send it by
`whatever means is most convenient: fax, e-mail or Short Message Service.
`
`LONG AND SHORT MESSAGES
`
`You can send text messages via SMS up to 2400 characters long. The Nokia 9000i breaks down a
`long message and sends it as several 160-character messages. Another Nokia 9000i
`Communicator then automatically reassembles the original message.
`
`You can also use the Short Message Service to send electronic business cards - either your own
`or any contact information in your contacts directory. When someone sends you an electronic
`business card, accept it and the Nokia 9000i Communicator creates a new item in your contacts
`directory.
`
`Smart Messaging via Text Web gives you access to any information available on the Internet, such
`as news, sports, humor or traffic reports. New services are being introduced all the time - the Nokia
`9000i is ready for them now.

`
`Sometimes a picture is worth a
`thousand words. With the Nokia
`9000i you can send or receive a
`map, for example, by fax, then
`call to discuss it, handsfree.
