`We are intellectual property counsel for Prime Wire & Cable, Inc. ("PRIME"). We are in
`receipt of your letter dated December 8,2017 concerning US Pat. No. 9,320,122 (the'122 patent).
`
`Initially, we were unaware of any patents that covered Jasco's products. It does not appear
`to us that any have been marked on packaging pursuant to 35 USC $287. Also, the '122 patent
`says on its face that it belongs to a company called Cantigny Lighting Control, LLC. We have
`been unable to locate any assignment documents to show Jasco owns this patent.
`
`We are happy to discuss amicable resolution of any claims, but we are somewhat confused
`about the allegations against PRIME's products. It appears to us that the claims of the '122 patent
`are very narrowly drawn to "light timers" whereas PRIME's products are outlet timers that employ
`technology that has been in the public domain for decades predating the '122 patent.
`
`Also, in your letter you mentioned design patents, but we have not found any that speak to
`your products. So, I would ask that you share those design patents with me so we may have an
`informed discussion.
