`A timer adapted to apply power to a device, the timer comprising:

`a first user selectable button of a user interface, wherein the first user

`selectable button establishes an on time and an off time ofafirst timing pattern;

`user selectable button establishes an on time and anoff time of a second timing

`pattern that is different than the first timing pattern.
