`Granting Patent Owner’s Motion for Withdrawal of Counsel

`1 We exercise our discretion to issue one Order. The Parties are not
`authorized to use a multi-case caption. Also, Pfizer Inc., who filed petitions
`in IPR2019-00977, IPR2019-00978, IPR2019-00980, IPR2019-00981,
`IPR2019-00982, IPR2019-00987, IPR2019-01022, and IPR2019-01023, has
`been joined as a petitioner in each of these proceedings except IPR2018-
`01670.

`I.
`INTRODUCTION
`Patent Owner filed a Motion for Withdrawal of Counsel in each of the
`above-listed proceedings.2 Paper 77 (“Motion”).3 Patent Owner states that
`Petitioner does not oppose the Motion. Id. at 2. For the following reasons,
`the Motion is granted.
`
`II. DISCUSSION
`Patent Owner requests withdrawal of back-up counsel Brian C.
`Chang. Id. at 2. Patent Owner states that “Brian C. Chang is no longer
`associated with” the law firm representing Patent Owner. Id. Having
`reviewed the Motion, we determine that good cause exists for granting the
`Motion.
`Patent Owner must file updated Mandatory Notices removing
`Mr. Chang as back-up counsel, in accordance with 37 C.F.R. § 42.8(b)(3)
`within seven (7) calendar days of the entry of this Order.

`2 Patent Owner did not seek authorization prior to filing its Motion. See 37
`C.F.R. § 42.10(e) (“Counsel may not withdraw from a proceeding before the
`Board unless the Board authorizes such withdrawal.”); 37 C.F.R. § 42.20(b)
`(“A motion will not be entered without Board authorization.”). For the
`purposes of this Motion, we sua sponte authorize their filing in this Order.
`Going forward, however, Patent Owner must obtain authorization prior to
`filing motions for which authorization is required.

`
`It is hereby:
`ORDERED that Patent Owner’s Motion for Withdrawal of Counsel is
`granted;
`FURTHER ORDERED that Patent Owner must file updated
`Mandatory Notices removing Brian C. Chang as back-up counsel in
`accordance with 37 C.F.R. § 42.8(b)(3) within seven (7) calendar days of the
`entry of this Order; and
`FURTHER ORDERED that Brian C. Chang is considered withdrawn
`from these proceedings.
