`[Claims]
`
`[Claim 1] A child car seat to be
`installed to a vehicle seat by vehicle
`passenger protection webbing engaged with a
`buckle device, comprising: a base which is
`mounted on said vehicle seat; a seat main
`body on which a child can be seated facing
`the vehicle front-rear direction, which is
`supported on the base and is freely tiltable in
`the vehicle front-rear direction to make
`reclining action, and which has formed
`therein a straddle part over which the
`webbing straddles so that said webbing is laid
`across the seat main body together with the
`base; a cover member which is supported on
`the seat main body and which is capable of
`opening and closing the straddle part and
`which allows, when opened, the webbing to
`be installed thereto or detached therefrom; a
`locking member which is disposed on the
`base so as to face the cover member via the
`webbing laid across said straddle part, and
`which is movable, when the cover member is
`closed, between a first position at which the
`webbing across the straddle part is locked
`between the cover member and the locking
`member and a second position at which the
`webbing is unlocked; and an operation
`member which is disposed on said base and
`operates to move the locking member
`between the first position and the second
`position.
`
`
`[Detailed description of the invention]
`
`[0001]
`
`[Technical field of the invention] The
`present invention relates to a child car seat
`which is installed to a vehicle seat by vehicle
`passenger protection webbing that is engaged
`with a buckle device.
`
`[0002]
`
`[Background technology] In three-
`point seatbelt devices, one end of webbing is
`retracted by a retractor disposed in a lower
`section of a vehicle side wall, and the other
`end thereof is passed through a shoulder
`anchor in an upper section of the vehicle side
`wall to be locked onto an anchor plate in the
`lower section of the vehicle side wall. A
`tongue plate is fitted to a middle section of
`the webbing in a slidable manner, and by
`causing the tongue plate to engage with a
`buckle device that is fixed in a vehicle center
`section, the webbing is fitted onto a passenger,
`with a part of the webbing between the
`
`
`
`2
`
`shoulder anchor and the tongue plate serving
`as shoulder webbing and a part thereof
`between the tongue plate and the buckle
`device serving as lap webbing.
`
`[0003] Meanwhile, a child car seat is
`known in which a seat main body, on which a
`child is seated, is arranged on a base in a
`freely tilt manner so as to make reclining
`action.
`[0004] In the foregoing, a child seat
`
`is installed on a front passenger seat or a rear
`seat using the webbing by laying the lap
`webbing across the seat main body together
`with the base so as to straddle the same and
`engaging the tongue plate with the buckle
`device.
`[0005] In such a case, locking clips
`
`such as a locking clip 150 illustrated in Fig. 9
`have been conventionally used to stretch the
`lap webbing and prevent the same from
`loosening.
`
`[0006] The locking clip 150 has a
`shape in which one pair of opposing frame
`pieces that are each open in the center section
`thereof serves as opened pieces 152 and
`another pair of opposing frame pieces that are
`orthogonal to the one pair of opposing frame
`pieces is supported by a supporting piece 154
`in the center section of each frame piece.
`Webbing 156 is inserted, with lap webbing
`160 and shoulder webbing 162 being stacked,
`via the openings of the opened pieces 152
`through spaces between the supporting piece
`154 and the opened pieces 152, thereby being
`held and locked between a tongue plate 160
`engaged with a buckle device 158 and the
`child seat.
`
`[0007]
`
`[Problems to be solved by the
`invention] Meanwhile, for the conventional
`child car seat described above, it is not easy
`to install a child seat due to difficulty in
`passing the webbing 156 through the locking
`clip 150, and there is also a possibility of
`losing the locking clip 150 since the locking
`clip 150 is an independent piece from the
`child seat. Further, because the webbing 156
`is laid across so as to straddle the seat main
`body together with the base and is locked by
`the locking plate 150, there is a possibility
`that the lap webbing 160 could become loose
`by following the tilting movement of the seat
`main body when the seat main body is caused
`to make reclining action, and this requires the
`locking clip 150 to be adjusted so as to
`stretch the lap webbing.

`
`

`

`[0008] The object of the present
`
`invention is, by taking into account the
`abovementioned facts, to provide a child car
`seat which can be installed onto a vehicle seat
`by a simple operation, eliminates the
`possibility of loss of a part necessary for
`installation, and further prevents webbing
`from becoming loose as a result of reclining
`action.
`
`[0009]
`
`[Means for solving the problems] In
`order to achieve the object described above,
`the present invention proposes a child car seat
`to be installed to a vehicle seat by vehicle
`passenger protection webbing engaged with a
`buckle device, comprising: a base which is
`mounted on the vehicle seat; a seat main body
`on which a child can be seated facing the
`vehicle front-rear direction, which is
`supported on the base and is freely tiltable in
`the vehicle front-rear direction to make a
`reclining action, and which has formed
`therein a straddle part over which the
`webbing straddles so that the webbing is laid
`across the seat main body together with the
`base; a cover member which is supported on
`the seat main body and which is capable of
`opening and closing the straddle part and
`which allows, when opened, the webbing to
`be installed thereto or detached therefrom; a
`locking member which is disposed on the
`base so as to face the cover member via the
`webbing laid across the straddle part, and
`which is movable, when the cover member is
`closed, between a first position at which the
`webbing across the straddle part is locked
`between the cover member and the locking
`member and a second position at which the
`webbing is unlocked; and an operation
`member which is disposed on the base and
`operates to move the locking member
`between the first position and the second
`position.
`
`[0010]
`
`[Operation] According to a child car
`seat as in the present invention, a child seat is
`installed by placing a base, on which a seat
`main body is supported, onto a vehicle seat
`first, and then opening a cover member,
`positioning webbing over a straddle part, and
`engaging the webbing with the buckle device.
`
`[0011] Then, in a state where a
`locking member is at a first position, the
`cover member is closed so that the webbing is
`locked between the cover member and the
`
`
`
`3
`
`locking member. Consequently, the child seat
`is held on the vehicle seat.
`
`[0012] The child seat can be detached
`simply by opening the cover member so that
`the webbing is removed from the straddle
`part.
`[0013] Meanwhile, to cause the seat
`
`main body to tilt relative to the base, thereby
`making a reclining action, the locking
`member is first moved from the first position
`to a second position by an operation member.
`At the second position, the webbing between
`the cover member and the locking member is
`unlocked. Because of the foregoing, even
`when the seat main body is caused to tilt
`relative to the base, the webbing will not
`follow the tilting movement of the seat main
`body, and the loosening of the webbing is
`thus prevented. Further, at a given tilt
`position, by moving back the locking member
`to the first position by the operation member,
`the webbing is locked again.
`
`[0014] As described above, the
`present invention makes it possible to install
`a child seat to a vehicle seat by a simple
`operation, eliminates the possibility of loss of
`a part necessary for installation, and further
`prevents the webbing from becoming loose
`due to reclining action.
`
`[0015]
`
`[Embodiments of the invention] An
`embodiment of the present invention will be
`explained in detail below, with references to
`Fig. 1 to Fig. 8.
`
`[0016] Fig. 2 (the vehicle front
`direction is shown by an arrow FR; the
`vehicle upper direction is shown by the arrow
`UP; and the vehicle lateral inward direction is
`shown by the arrow IN) illustrates a child car
`seat according to this embodiment.
`
`[0017] The child car seat has a base
`12 which is mounted to a rear seat 10 that
`constitutes a vehicle seat. The base 12
`includes a bottom wall 14; a pair of side walls
`16 are disposed at both vehicle lateral
`direction edges of the bottom wall 14, the
`side walls being formed so as to stand in an
`arc shape with the height thereof gradually
`becoming higher from the vehicle front side
`to the vehicle rear side; and a back wall 18 is
`formed at a vehicle rear side edge of the
`bottom wall 14 to stand and is connected to
`the pair of side walls 16.
`
`[0018] A seat main body 20 is
`supported on the base 12. The seat main body
`20 is arranged so that the bottom part thereof
`
`
`

`

`is positioned inside of the side walls 16 and
`back wall 18 of the base 12, and the seat main
`body 20 is provided with a seat part 22 and a
`backrest part 24 to allow a child to be seated
`facing the vehicle front direction. Further, on
`both vehicle lateral direction sides of the seat
`part 22, side supports 26 are formed so as to
`protrude upward, and side supports 28 are
`also formed so as to protrude forward from
`both vehicle lateral direction sides of the
`backrest part 24. Further, in the center section
`of the seat part 22, a crotch buckle 30 is
`disposed to protrude upward, and child
`protection webbing 32 (shown only partially)
`installed on the backrest part 24 is engaged
`with the crotch buckle 30 in a detachable
`manner.
`
`[0019] As shown in Fig. 1, a guide
`groove 34 is formed in the inner surface of a
`vehicle front-side section of both of the side
`walls 16 of the base 12. The guide grooves 34
`extend towards the vehicle rear side in an arc
`shape along with the rise of the side walls 16
`of the base 12. Further, as shown in Fig. 3,
`the bottom part of the seat main body 20 has
`a plurality of pairs of guide protrusions 36
`formed on both vehicle lateral direction sides
`so as to face the guide grooves 34; as the
`guide protrusions 36 engage with the guide
`grooves 34 and move along the guide grooves
`34, the seat main body 20 tilts in the vehicle
`front-rear direction, thereby making a
`reclining action.
`
`[0020] In addition, as shown in Fig. 1,
`a pair of rib-shaped stopper pieces 38 are
`disposed in a protruding manner in a vehicle
`front side section of the bottom wall 14 of the
`base 12. The stopper pieces 38 extend in the
`vehicle front-rear direction and are formed to
`stand in an arc shape with the height thereof
`gradually increasing towards the vehicle rear
`side. Further, the stopper pieces 38 each have
`formed therein a plurality of stopper holes 40
`on an arc along the arc-shaped rise of the
`stopper pieces 38. Meanwhile, as shown in
`Fig. 3, the bottom part of the seat main body
`20 has disposed thereon, via an installation
`bracket 44, a stopper shaft 42 that
`corresponds to the stopper holes 40. The
`installation bracket 44 is formed in a U shape
`with the upper side thereof being open when
`viewed from the vehicle front-rear direction,
`and is fixed onto the bottom part of the seat
`main body 20. The stopper shaft 42, with the
`axial direction thereof matching the vehicle
`lateral direction, extends from the inside of
`
`
`
`4
`
`the installation bracket 44 through side pieces
`of the bracket 44 to the outside and is
`movable in the axial direction. Further, a long
`plate-shaped operation lever 46, which is
`movable in the vehicle front-rear direction, is
`arranged inside the installation bracket 44.
`The operation lever 46 has formed in a rear
`end section thereof a pair of guide holes 48
`arranged in an inverted V shape when viewed
`from the vehicle up-down direction, and as
`shown in Fig. 1, a rising bent part 50 of the
`stopper shaft 42 is engaged with the guide
`holes 48. Further, as shown in Fig. 3, a coil
`spring 52 is interposed between the operation
`lever 46 and the bracket 44. Because of the
`coil spring 52, the stopper shaft 42 is in a
`state of being engaged with the stopper holes
`40 during normal times, and the tilting
`position of the seat main body 20 is
`maintained relative to the base 12. In contrast,
`when a holding section 54, which is formed
`in the vehicle front end section of the
`operation lever 46, is pulled against the coil
`spring 52 and the operation lever 46 is moved
`to the vehicle front side, the rising bent part
`50 of the stopper shaft 42 is guided along the
`guide holes 48, the stopper shaft 42 is moved
`inward of the bracket 44 and released from
`the state of being engaged with the stopper
`holes 40, thus allowing tilting movement of
`the seat main body 20 relative to the base 12.
`
`[0021] As shown in Fig. 3, the seat
`main body 20 has a straddle part 56 formed in
`a recessed manner between the seat part 22
`and the backrest part 24. As shown in Fig. 2,
`vehicle webbing 60 is passed through
`recessed sections 58, which are formed in the
`top surface of both of the side walls 16 of the
`base 12 so as to be continuous to the straddle
`part 56, and is laid across straddling the seat
`main body 20 together with the base 12.
`
`[0022] The webbing 60 has one end
`retracted by a retractor (not shown) disposed
`in the lower section of the side wall of the
`vehicle and the other end passed through a
`shoulder anchor (not shown) in the upper
`section of the side wall of the vehicle and
`locked onto an anchor plate (not shown) in
`the lower section of the side wall of the
`vehicle. As shown in Fig. 2, a tongue plate 62
`is fitted to a middle section of the webbing 60,
`and the tongue plate 62 is engaged with a
`buckle device 64 located closer to the vehicle
`lateral center of the rear seat 10. Of the
`webbing 60, a section between the tongue
`plate 62 and the anchor plate serves as lap
`
`
`

`

`webbing 66 and a section between the tongue
`plate 62 and the shoulder anchor serves as
`shoulder webbing 68.
`
`[0023] In the straddle part 56, the
`webbing 60 is positioned with the lap
`webbing 66 and shoulder webbing 68 stacked
`together in a state where the tongue plate 62
`is engaged with the buckle device 64.
`
`[0024] Further, a rectangular lid 70
`that constitutes a cover member is disposed
`on the straddle part 56. The lid 70 has a shaft
`part 72, both vehicle lateral direction sides of
`which extend toward the vehicle front side
`and the shaft direction of which matches the
`vehicle lateral direction, and the lid 70 is
`supported on the seat part 22 of the seat main
`body 20 with the shaft part 72 so as to be
`rotatable about the shaft part 72. This
`configuration makes it possible to open and
`close the straddle part 56. A stopper piece 74
`protrudes from the center section of the
`vehicle rear side end of the lid 70 and is
`elastically and detachably locked, when the
`lid 70 is closed, with a stopper 76 in the
`backrest part 24 disposed so as to correspond
`to the stopper piece 74.
`
`[0025] As shown in Fig. 1, a pair of
`engagement protrusions 78 are formed on the
`bottom surface of the lid 70 at both vehicle
`lateral direction ends of the seat main body
`20 and are positioned so as to face the
`webbing 60 over the straddle part 56. As
`shown in Fig. 3, the straddle part 56 has
`formed therein a pair of rectangular cutout
`openings 57 that face the engagement
`protrusions 78, and when the lid 70 is closed,
`the engagement protrusions 78 pass through
`the cutout openings 57 to protrude downward.
`
`[0026] Meanwhile, a middle plate 80
`is placed across between the side walls 16
`inside the base 12. The middle plate 80
`extends from the vehicle lateral center section
`of the side walls and reaches the back wall 18
`and is inclined so as to be positioned higher
`towards the vehicle rear side. In addition, the
`middle plate 80 is provided with a pair of
`support brackets 82 at positions opposing the
`engagement protrusions 78. Each support
`bracket 82 is formed in a square tube when
`viewed in the vehicle lateral direction, has a
`top piece 84 extending in the vehicle lateral
`direction in a flange shape, and penetrates
`through the middle plate 80 and is fixed in a
`hanging manner with the top piece 84 being
`supported on the top surface of the middle
`plate 80. Further, each support bracket 82 is
`
`
`
`5
`
`provided with a locking member 86. The
`locking member 86 has flanges 88 formed at
`the top edge thereof and is shaped like an
`inverted hat when viewed in the vehicle
`front-rear direction. The flanges 88 remain
`outside the bracket 82, while both side pieces
`90 of the locking member 86 penetrate the
`top piece 84 of the bracket 82 to the inside of
`the bracket 82 such that the locking member
`86 can move vertically (in the direction
`perpendicular to the middle plate 80) between
`a first position located upper and a second
`position located lower. Further, an
`engagement recess 92 is formed inside the
`locking member which is also outside the
`bracket 82.
`
`[0027] Due to the foregoing
`configuration, when the lid 70 is closed and
`the locking members 86 are at the first
`position, the engagement protrusions 78 enter
`the engagement recesses 92 and engage
`therewith, with the webbing 60 over the
`straddle part 56 interposed therebetween, as
`illustrated in Fig. 4 and Fig. 5. As a result, the
`webbing 60 in the straddle part 56 is bent
`between the engagement protrusions 78 and
`engagement recesses 92, with the lap
`webbing 66 and shoulder webbing 68 being
`stacked, and the webbing is pressed between
`the flanges of the locking members 86 and
`the bottom surface of the lid 70 facing the
`flanges and is locked. As a result, the lap
`webbing 66 is retained in a tensed state
`between the anchor plate and the buckle
`device 64.
`
`[0028] When the lid 70 is closed and
`the locking members 86 are at the second
`position, the engagement protrusions 78 and
`the engagement recesses 92 are in a state of
`non-engagement and the locking state is
`released, and the webbing 60 is free between
`the engagement protrusions 78 and the
`engagement recesses 92, as illustrated in Fig.
`6 and Fig. 7.
`
`[0029] Further, as illustrated in Fig. 4,
`the bottom of each locking member 86 is
`configured such that: both vehicle front-rear
`direction ends thereof are formed closed to
`serve as bottom pieces 94; the middle part
`thereof is open and serves as an opening 96;
`and a coil spring 98 is interposed between the
`bottom piece 94 and the top piece 84 of the
`bracket 82, at each of the vehicle front-rear
`direction ends. The coil springs 98 impel the
`locking member 86 so as to be positioned at
`the second position all the time.
`
`
`

`

`[0030] Inside the bracket 82, an
`
`operation plate 102 that constitutes an
`operation member is disposed on the top
`surface of a bottom piece 100 of the bracket.
`The operation plate 102 is movable in the
`vehicle front-rear direction, and the top
`surface of the operation plate 102 is provided
`with a pair of bulges 104 that respectively
`abut both of the bottom pieces 94 of the
`locking member 86 and a valley 106 formed
`between the bulges 104. When the operation
`plate 102 moves towards the vehicle front
`side and the bulges 104 come off the bottom
`pieces 94 of the locking member 86, the
`locking member 86 moves in the vehicle
`lower direction due to the impelling force of
`the coil springs 98 such that the bulge 104
`enters the opening 96; more specifically, the
`bottom piece 94 of the locking member 86
`abuts the valley 106 of the operation plate
`102 and the flanges 88 of the locking member
`86 abut the top piece 84 of the bracket 82,
`and as a result, the locking member 86
`reaches the second position (Fig. 6). An
`inclined surface 105 is formed between the
`bulge 104 and the valley 106 of the operation
`plate 102, and also is formed to constitute the
`vehicle rear side end of the operation plate
`102. When the operation plate 102 moves
`towards the vehicle rear side, the bottom
`pieces 94 of the locking member 86 are
`pushed upward along the inclined surfaces
`105 to allow the locking member 86 to move
`to the first position.
`
`[0031] In addition, the operation
`plate 102 is provided with a coil spring 108
`interposed between the operation plate and
`the middle plate 80, and the operation plate
`102 is impelled thereby to move towards the
`vehicle rear side during normal time. This
`coil spring 108 is formed to exhibit an
`impelling force stronger than the coil springs
`98. At a restraint position where the vehicle
`rear side end of the operation plate 102 is
`caused to abut a regulation protrusion 81
`hanging from the middle plate 80 so as to
`restrain the movement of the operation plate
`102 to the vehicle rear side, the bulges 104 of
`the operation plate 102 come to abut the
`bottom pieces 94 of the locking member 86.
`
`[0032] Further, one end of a wire 109
`is locked onto the vehicle front side end of
`the operation plate 102 and the other end of
`the wire 109 is linked to the operation lever
`46, as illustrated in Fig. 1; therefore, the
`operation plate 102 moves in an interlocking
`
`
`
`6
`
`manner with the operation lever 46. More
`specifically, when the operation lever 46 is
`pulled towards the vehicle front side to tilt the
`seat main body 20 relative to the base 12, the
`operation plate 102 is also pulled towards the
`vehicle front side.
`
`[0033] Next, the effect of the present
`embodiment is explained. First, to install a
`child seat, the base 12, on which the seat
`main body 20 is supported, is placed on the
`rear seat 10; and then, the lid 70 is opened
`(Fig. 8), the webbing 60 is positioned over
`the straddle part 56 with the lap webbing 66
`and the shoulder webbing 68 being stacked,
`and the tongue plate 62 is engaged with the
`buckle device 64.
`
`[0034] Thereafter, with the locking
`members 86 being at the first position, the lid
`70 is closed to cause the engagement
`protrusions 78 and the engagement recesses
`92 to be engaged with each other with the
`webbing 60 interposed therebetween, and the
`webbing 60, with the lap webbing 66 and
`shoulder webbing 68 being stacked, is locked
`between the lid 70 and the locking members
`86 (see Fig. 4 and Fig. 5). As a result, the
`child seat is held onto the rear seat 10.
`
`[0035] Detaching the child seat
`requires only that the stopper 76 be pressed to
`release the locked state with the stopper piece
`74 and open the lid 70 (Fig. 8), and the
`webbing 60 is thus removed from the straddle
`part 56.
`
`[0036] Meanwhile, to tilt the seat
`main body 20 relative to the base 12 and
`make reclining action, the operation lever 46
`is first pulled to the vehicle front side. As a
`result, the stopper shaft 42 comes out of the
`stopper holes 40 and the tilting of the seat
`main body 20 is allowed.
`
`[0037] When the operation lever 46
`is pulled to the vehicle front side, the
`operation plate 102 is pulled and moved to
`the vehicle front side at the same time, and as
`a result, the bulges 104 of the operation plate
`102 come off from the bottom pieces 94 of
`the locking members 86, and the locking
`members 86 move from the first position to
`the second position.
`
`[0038] At the second position (Fig. 6
`and Fig. 7), the locked state of the webbing
`60 between the lid 70 and the locking
`members 86 is released to free the webbing.
`As a result, when the seat main body 20 is
`tilted relative to the base 12, the webbing 60
`will not follow the tilting movement of the
`
`
`

`

`seat main body 20, thus preventing the lap
`webbing 66 from becoming loose.
`
`[0039] The engagement protrusions
`78 of the lid 70 and the engagement recesses
`92 of the locking members 86 each have
`sufficient width in the vehicle front-rear
`direction across the range of tilting of the seat
`main body 20, and the engagement
`protrusions 78 can securely engage with the
`engagement recesses 92 with the webbing 60
`interposed therebetween even when the
`engagement protrusions 78 move relative to
`the webbing 60 and the engagement recesses
`92 in conjunction with the tilting movement
`of the seat main body 20.
`
`[0040] Moreover, by placing back the
`operation lever 46 to the original position at a
`given tilting position, the stopper shaft 42
`engages with the stopper holes 40 and the
`seat main body 20 is thus held at the given
`tilting position. In addition, the operation
`plate 102 moves to the vehicle rear side, the
`locking members 86 move to the first
`position, and the webbing 60 is thus locked
`again.
`[0041] As described above, a child
`
`seat can be installed to the rear seat 10 by a
`simple operation, the possibility of loss of a
`part necessary for installation is eliminated,
`and the webbing 60 is further prevented from
`becoming loose due to reclining action.
`
`[0042] Further, when the lid 70 is
`opened, a child cannot be seated because of
`the opened lid 70, and it is thus always
`required to close the lid to allow a child to be
`seated. Consequently, whether or not the
`webbing is locked can be confirmed without
`fail.
`[0043] Further, since the operation
`
`lever 46 for making reclining action and the
`operation plate 102 for unlocking the
`webbing are interlocked, the webbing 60 is
`always unlocked when a reclining action is
`made, and this makes it possible to perform
`reclining action easily and quickly.
`
`[0044] The webbing 60 is laid across
`the child seat so that the surface thereof is
`oriented not horizontally but at an incline,
`and in order to correspond thereto, the
`engagement protrusions 78 of the lid 70 and
`the engagement recesses of the locking
`members 86 are formed oriented at an incline.
`In addition, the locking members 86 move in
`the direction orthogonal to the surface of the
`webbing 60 rather than in the vertical
`
`
`
`7
`
`direction. Therefore, the webbing 60 is
`locked more precisely.
`
`[0045] The embodiment of the
`present invention is explained as above;
`however, the present invention is not limited
`to the abovementioned embodiment and
`various modifications are possible. For
`example, the abovementioned embodiment
`describes a child seat being installed to a
`vehicle rear seat 10, but the invention is not
`limited to the rear seat 10. In addition, the
`embodiment uses the webbing of a three-
`point seatbelt device, but the invention is not
`limited thereto.
`
`[0046]
`
`[Advantages of the invention] A
`child car seat according to the present
`invention makes it possible to install a child
`seat to a vehicle seat by a simple operation,
`eliminates the possibility of loss of a part
`necessary for installation, and further
`prevents webbing from becoming loose due
`to a reclining action.
