`The Sensory Circuits RSC series utilizes a proprietary
`neural network based recognition technology to provide
`speech recognition and synthesis in cost sensitive appli(cid:173)
`cations such as toys, games, electronic edutainment and
`consumer electronics. The RSC-164 has the same func(cid:173)
`tional specification as the RSC-264, but has external
`memory addressing, useful for prototype designs, large
`vocabularies and record and playback applications.
`The RSC series allows for speaker independent recogni(cid:173)
`tion, requiring no programming by the end user. The
`RSC-164 is also capable of speaker dependent recogni(cid:173)
`tion, allowing the user to customize the words to be
`recognized, The recognition technology can recognize
`an unlimited number of words broken into 2- 10 word
`sets. Each set may contain different words, and the
`
`ory. The RSC selies includes digital filteling to improve
`recogni_tion quality.

`data rates of under 15,000 bits per second for custom greetings, phone answering machines, voice changers and handbeld communjcation

`minimizes the amo.unt of additional electronics required to implement the product. Less than 50% of the processor is utilized during synthesis.

`The RSC series utilizes a .6 micron CMOS design with auto powerdown mode on chip for extended battery life. Selectable clock speeds
`include 4.7MHz, 7.2MHz, and 14.3M.,ly: with an on chip 32.7KHz timekeeping circuit. The automatic gain control (AGC) circuitry allows
`speaking at different vocal volumes or at varying distances from the microphone with little impact on recognition quality. The RSC series uses
`a single 3-6 volt supply, with <10 microamps current in standby mode, and about 20 milliamps operating current. 14-16 independent pro(cid:173)
`grammable single bit I/0 lines are included for general purpose communication and control.
