Altus Precast
`AltusGroup joins PCI as supplier associate member
`
`March 5, 2014
`
`Group conrms commitment to precast industry and being an agent for innovation
`
`BETHLEHEM, Pa. (March 5, 2014) – AltusGroup, a network of 16 North American precast concrete
`manufacturers, has joined the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (https://www.pci.org/) (PCI) as a
`Supplier Associate Company. AltusGroup’s participation in PCI provides another opportunity for it to
`participate in industry marketing and educational efforts as well as taking an active role in standards
`development and research.
`
`“PCI’s current marketing effort is geared to ‘high performance precast (https://altusprecast.com/carboncast-
`high-performance-insulated-wall-panels/)’ and we feel like we are very much aligned with that position,” said
`John Carson, executive director of AltusGroup. “Our innovative CarbonCast technology
`(https://altusprecast.com/) with carbon ber grid shear trusses and reinforcing represents a major advance in
`the design and production of precast concrete walls and double tees and is state of the art technology. We are
`contributing to the precast success story and want to add our voice to the industry’s ongoing efforts.”
`
`PCI’s Supplier and Services Associate Members like AltusGroup include rms that are engaged in supplying
`goods or services that are used by the industry in the development or production of industry products. As a
`requirement of AltusGroup membership, all of the network’s 16 member precasters
`(https://altusprecast.com/nd-a-precaster/) are members of PCI or its Canadian counterpart, CPCI.
`
`AltusGroup precasters market CarbonCast Enclosure Systems and CarbonCast Double Tees
`(https://altusprecast.com/carboncast-double-tees/) in addition to conventional precast products. CarbonCast
`products use C-GRID® carbon ber grid connectors and reinforcing elements. An advanced generation, high-
`performance precast product, CarbonCast Enclosure Systems have clear durability and sustainability
`advantages that have contributed to its acceptance. The need for continuous insulation to meet ASHRAE 90.1
`energy codes makes CarbonCast especially appealing to architects and owners. And the corrosion resistance
`of C-GRID provides peace of mind for garage owners who are looking for double tee anges that stand the test
`of time.
`
`AltusGroup precast concrete manufacturers (https://altusprecast.com/nd-a-precaster/)have installed more
`than 28 million square feet of CarbonCast wall and deck surface area on over 700 structures since introducing
`the technology in 2004.
