`REMARKS/ARGUMENTS
`
`Claims 25-28, 47-48, 50-53, 70, and 72-73 are amended by this latest (second)
`
`preliminary amendment. Claims 29-40, 44-45, 54-69, and 71 are canceled. No claims are
`
`added. Accordingly, following entry of these amendments and remarks, claims 24-2 8, 41-43,
`
`46-53, 70, and 72-73 will remain pending.
`
`The instant application is a reissue of US. Patent No. 6,321,335 ("the '335 Patent"). As
`
`indicated in the previous (initial) preliminary amendment, the instant application has been
`
`revised to expressly include portions of US. Patent No. 6,345,330 ("the '330 Patent"), which was
`
`incorporated by reference in the '335 Patent.
`
`The instant amendments reduce the number of pending claims. Claims 25—27, 50, and
`
`72-73 are also amended to change their dependency to an appropriate independent claim.
`
`Claims 28, 47-48, 51-53, and 70 are being revised more substantially by this preliminary
`
`amendment. Specifically, claim 28 is re-written from an independent claim to a dependent
`
`claim, and independent claim 70 is amended, with both of these claims now reciting that the
`
`computer module communicates to the console through serial bit lines transmitting data packets
`
`in USB protocol. Support for these claim amendments may be found in the incorporated '330
`
`Patent at least at col. 16, lines 1-5.
`
`Independent claim 47 is being re-written as a dependent claim to recite that the computer
`
`module further comprises an interface controller coupled to a differential signal channel for
`
`communicating an encoded serial bit stream of PCI bus transaction. Support for this claim
`
`amendment may be found in the incorporated '330 Patent, at least at col. 7, lines 59-64.
`
`Claims 48 and 51 have now been amended to recite that the differential signal channel
`
`comprises two sets of unidirectional serial bit channels which transmit data in opposite
`
`directions. Support for this claim amendment may be found in the incorporated '330 Patent, at
`
`least at col. 3, lines 18-21.
`
`Claims 52 has beenamended to recite that the encoded serial bit stream is transmitted in
`
`10 bit packets. Support for this claim may be found in the incorporated '330 Patent at least at
`
`col. 8, lines 61-63. Claim 53 has been amended to recite the PCI bus transaction transmitting
