`
`Exhibit F: U.S. Patent No. 8,266,212
`
`Pursuant to Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Court’s Order Governing Proceedings – Patent Case (signed June 24, 2021), Plaintiff IGT
`(“IGT US”) provides the following initial claim chart (“Preliminary Infringement Contentions”) demonstrating infringement of United
`States Patent No. 8,266,212 (the “’212 Patent”) by Defendant Zynga Inc. (“Zynga”). Specifically, Zynga has infringed each of the
`claims identified in these Preliminary Infringement Contentions (i.e., claims 24, 27–29, 31, and 34–36 of the ’212 Patent) by performing
`in the United States Zynga’s gaming methods involving hardware and software for publishing one or more of the high-level functions
`identified in the chart below, such as functionality for allowing users (e.g., third parties or Zynga during testing) to purchase virtual
`items or other goods or services for Zynga games including, but not limited to, Words With Friends, Words With Friends 2, Harry
`Potter: Puzzles & Spells, FarmVille, FarmVille 2, FarmVille 3, Zynga Poker, Hit It Rich! suits of slots games including, e.g., Mustang
`Money, Game of Thrones Slots Casino, Willy Wonka Slots, Wizard of Oz Slots, Black Diamond Casino slots, and other games listed
`in IGT_0004551 (Apple App Store), IGT_0004583 (Google Play Store), and/or IGT_0004424 (Zynga.com/games/) (the “Accused
`Methods”).1 On information and belief, the Zynga games referenced in the below charts are exemplary only, and are representative of
`and exhibit the same accused instrumentalities common to all of Zynga’s Accused Methods.
`
`Fact discovery has not yet begun, and these Preliminary Infringement Contentions are based on information currently available
`to IGT US. IGT US expressly reserves the right to supplement and/or amend these Preliminary Infringement Contentions—for example,
`by supplementing any citations describing Zynga’s infringement of the asserted claims, or by amending with additional Accused
`Methods and/or claims, or both—as the case progresses.
`
`Claim 24
`
`Zynga’s Accused Methods
`
`24(p). A method for
`distributed gaming over a
`communication bus,
`comprising:
`
`To the extent the preamble is limiting, Zynga’s Accused Methods comprise a method for distributed
`gaming over a communication bus.
`
`For example, Zynga’s Accused Methods allow users to access various games over a communication
`bus, such as the Internet or cellular network, connected to or more servers owned, operated, or
`controlled by Zynga (“Zynga server”).
`
`
`1
`This list of Accused Methods is exemplary only and based on publicly available information. It is possible that Zynga’s
`infringement includes one or more claims of the ’212 Patent based on other current or prior Zynga game offerings that are not expressly
`identified herein. IGT US reserves all rights to supplement and amend these contentions, including its identification of the Accused
`Methods and the evidence set forth in these charts, as discovery proceeds.

`
`24(e). accepting the
`subscription request;
`
`Zynga’s Accused Methods comprise accepting the subscription request.
`
`
`
`For example, if the subscription request relates to purchasing virtual items or other goods or services,
`the request is accepted by a Zynga server(s) in order to fulfill the order and transmit the purchased
`items, goods, or servers to a user.
`
`As another example, if the subscription request relates to outcome determination information, the
`request is accepted by a Zynga server(s) in order to provide the result of a gaming session to a user.
`

`
`24(g). responsive to
`updates occurring during
`the gaming session,
`providing call backs, by
`the first gaming machine,
`the call backs returning a
`result of the execution of
`the first high-level
`function to the node over
`the communication bus.
`
`Zynga’s Accused Methods
`
`As another example, if the subscription request relates to player tracking information, the request is
`accepted by a Zynga server(s) in order to, for example, match a user to his/her individual player
`information stored on the Zynga server(s).
`
`Zynga’s Accused Methods comprise initiating a gaming session on the first gaming machine.
`
`For example, once a user selects to play any Zynga game comprising the Accused Methods, Zynga
`software initiates the selected game and establishes a gaming session between the user and Zynga’s
`server(s). See, e.g., IGT_0004386 (showing exemplary animation on a user display screen during a
`gaming session); IGT_0004369 (same); IGT_0004354 (same); IGT_0004300 (same).
`
`Zynga’s Accused Methods, responsive to updates occurring during the gaming session, provide call
`backs, by the first gaming machine, the call backs returning a result of the execution of the first high-
`level function to the node over the communication bus.
`
`For example, in response to a purchase of in-game credits or other goods or services during a gaming
`session, a call back is provided by a Zynga server(s), which determines that the purchase was
`authorized and returns the purchased credits, goods, or services to the purchaser’s computer or mobile

`
`
`
`The high-level function of Zynga’s Accused Methods includes at least one of a business function, an
`audit function, an authentication function, a biometric identification function, a graphics rendering
`computation function, and an outcome determination function.
`
`For example, the high-level function related to purchasing of in-game credits or other goods or
`services during a gaming session is a business or audit function; the high-level function related to
`calling for an outcome of a gaming event to be determined is an outcome determination function; the
`high-level function related to updating the player’s screen to show an area that is reserved for

`Claim 31
`
`31(p). A method for
`distributed gaming over a
`communication bus,
`comprising:
`
`31(a). providing a first
`node and coupling the first
`node to the communication
`bus;
`
`Zynga’s Accused Methods
`
`To the extent the preamble is limiting, Zynga’s Accused Methods perform a method for distributed
`gaming over a communication bus.
`
`See, e.g., Element 24(p).
`
`Zynga’s Accused Methods provide a first node and couple the first node to the communication bus.
`
`For example, Zynga provides one or more server(s), including servers that host Zynga’s games.
`Zynga’s servers are coupled to the Internet or cellular network, for communicating with users’
`computers and/or mobile devices including during gameplay.
`
`See, e.g., IGT_0004566 at IGT_0004567–69 (discussing Zynga game servers); IGT_0004536 at
`IGT_0004537–40.
`
`As another example, on information and belief, Zynga, either by itself, or by its direction or control of
`or joint enterprise with a third party, satisfies this limitation by providing one or more Zynga servers
`or one or more third-party servers for authorizing payments made by Zynga game users; and (2)
`coupling the server(s) to the Internet or cellular network. See, e.g., IGT_0004583; IGT_0004488 at
`IGT_0004494 (“You get a limited license and right to use Virtual Items by visiting the purchase page
`in one of our games or Services and providing billing authorization through the platform on which

`coupled to one or more Zynga servers over the Internet or cellular network.
`
`31(b). publishing, by the
`first node, a high-level
`function over the
`communication bus;
`
`Zynga’s Accused Methods publish, by the first node, a high-level function over the communication
`bus.
`
`For example, Zynga, via one or more server(s), publishes high-level functions over the Internet or
`cellular network.
