` Infrared man (Irman) is a small device that allows you to control your PC with the remote from your TV, VCR,
`CD or Stereo. Irman can be used in many ways, for example to control a software program while you are in
`another room. Imagine controlling Winamp with a normal remote to choose exactly the song you want. Or
`watching DVD from your couch while still being able to pause or fast forward.

`Hardware Information

` Irman can receive the infrared signals transmitted by all sorts of remotes. It converts these signals to computer
`commands understood by software in your PC. This software is integrated into the programs listed below. Irman
`has been tested with over 40 different brands of remotes, they all work. A description and a picture of Irman can

`Irmans are shipped with priority airmail to every country where they have a working postal service.

`Q: Which remotes does Irman support?
`
`A: We tested Irman with more then 40 remotes, Sony, Philips, JVC, etc. they all worked. Irman has built in
`support for almost every ir remote standard. The only remotes which we think that are not compatible are from
`B&O, they use a very rare standard, and are therefore probably not compatible with Irman. However, the vast
`majority of remotes (over 95%) does use a supported standard and is therefore compatible with Irman.

`Q: Can I program support for my favorite application?
`
`A: Yes, we would really like that. Just send us an email what you want to do, so we can give you support and
`place your program on our homepage. The Visual C++ 5.0 source code of the winamp plugin version 2.2 and a
`interface description are available for download.
`
`Q: How do you ship the Irman and how long does it take to arrive?
`
`A: We use the postal service for shipping, we send it by recorded priority airmail from The Netherlands, Europe. It
`takes about two weeks to arrive after we posted them. We try to post them no longer than one week after you
`ordered, so your Irman should arrive within two to three weeks after your payment.

`Q: Can I pay in another currency than dollars?
`
`A: All creditcard orders are processed in dollars, but if you pay by mail or wire you may also send the equivalent

`of the price in euro's in your own currency. Make sure to use the "sell" exchange rate and round upwards so no
`coins are needed when sending cash. The price in euro's is e30,- for Irman plus e3,- shipping charges per order. If
`you pay with cheque or US money order please add an extra e7,- to your order. Please specify the currency and
`the amount you intend to pay in your ordering email.

`Q: Can I use the Irman with my notebook?
`
`A: There is a chance your notebook doesn't work with Irman. Some notebooks use 5V or 3V instead of 11V on
`their comport and are therefore not compatible with Irman.
`
`Q: What cable can I use to connect Irman?
`
`A: Please use a straight-through serial cable (not a null modem one). The cable can be very long, distances of 15
`meter has been reached. If you make your own cable you need one with 5 different wires on pin 2,3,4,5 en 7.
`
`Q: Does the Irman software work with my Irda port?
`
`A: No, we're sorry, Irman software only works with the Irman hardware, you will have to buy it. It's impossible to
`use a normal remote with the infrared ports that are standard on many computers now days. These ports use a high
`speed protocol that's not compatible with a normal remote.
`
`Q: Does Irman support the Irda protocol?
`
`A: No, we're sorry, Irman can not use the Irda protocol because the speed of this protocol is to high, you will have
`to use a separate Irda port.
