`Patent 10,303,411 B2
`
`INTRODUCTION
`I.
`Unified Patents (“Petitioner”) filed a Petition (Paper 1, “Pet.”)
`requesting post-grant review (“PGR”) of claims 1–20 of U.S. Patent
`No. 10,303,411 B2 (Ex. 1001, “the ’411 patent”). Pet. 5. We instituted an
`inter partes review of claims 1–20 of the ’411 patent. Paper 12 (“Dec.”).
`Pebble Tide LLC (“Patent Owner”) filed a Motion to Amend (Paper 18,
`“Mot. to Amend”) seeking to substitute claims 21–35 for claims 1–3, 5, 6,
`8–11, 13, 14, 16–18, and 20 of the ’411 patent.
`According to our rules, a motion to amend and an opposition to such a
`motion are both limited to 25 pages. See 37 C.F.R. §§ 42.24(a)(1)(vi),
`42.24(b)(3). Motions to amend, like all documents created for one of our
`proceedings, must comply with our general formatting requirements,
`including the use of 14-point Times New Roman proportional font and
`double spacing. See 37 C.F.R. § 42.6(a)(2). By email, Petitioner contends
`that the Motion to Amend is formatted such that it effectively has more than
`25 pages. Petitioner requests that the page limit for its opposition to the
`Motion to Amend be increased by 8 pages, to 33 pages. Petitioner
`represents that Patent Owner does not oppose this request and that the
`parties have agreed to Petitioner’s proposal to avoid a dispute on Petitioner’s
`page-limit contentions regarding the Motion to Amend.
`In light of the parties’ agreement, we authorize an eight-page increase
`to the page limit for Petitioner’s opposition to the Motion to Amend, i.e., to
`33 pages. Petitioner’s opposition must comply with our general formatting
`requirements in Rule 42.6(a)(2). Likewise, any reply from Patent Owner
`must comply with our general formatting requirements in Rule 42.6(a)(2)
`and the page limit of Rule 42.24(c)(3).
