`STEEL STRAPPING
`
`Types of Acme Strapping:
`There are three basic types of
`steel strapping. Each has certain
`advantages for certain applications.
`Your Acme representative can
`match them to your needs.
`
`Regular Duty: As in all types of
`Acme steel, strapping is uniform in
`width, gauge and tensile strength
`with limited elongation . Use for
`package reinforcement , unitizing,
`bundling, palletizing and box
`closure where the application is of
`low to medium duty.
`
`High Tensile: Manufactured to
`provide extra strength and
`elongation in a lighter cross
`section . Typical applications are
`unitizing building bricks,
`constraining compressed fibre
`bales, securing heavy steel
`
`coils, and unitizing bundles pf
`lumber.
`
`Extra High Tensile: Offers the
`same advantages of uniform
`high quality, but in larger cross
`sections, providing maximum
`strength and elongation. Use in
`heavy to extreme duty applica(cid:173)
`tions of unitizing and load
`securement where maximum
`protection from stress and
`shocks is required , e.g ., lifting
`loads aboard ships.
`
`Painted Finish: Black painted,
`Lubric (wax over coating) is
`standard for Regular Duty and
`High Tensile sizes up to .035"
`thick. Black painted, Non-Lubric
`is standard for High Tensile and
`Extra High Tensile sizes over
`.035 " thick. Coating allows strap
`

`to flow around corners and through
`the strapping machine more readily,
`helping to assure uniform tension
`on all sides of the package.
`
`Zinc Epoxy: Provides exceptional
`corrosion resistance in certain
`applications when materials such as
`clay products or lumber are stored
`outside In harsh atmospheres for
`prolonged periods.
`
`Galvanized: Offers even greater
`resistance to corrosion. Available in
`commercial grade (G-25) or
`Government grades (G-50 and
`G-85).
`
`Note: All types of Acme steel
`strapping conform to Canadian
`General Standards Board
`specification CAN/CGSB-43.24-M91 .

`SPECIAL STRAPPING
`Printed: Your company name, trademark or
`slogan will provide clear identification for your
`product. Available in various colors printed on
`black or zinc finish.

`Punched: Includes Car Door Strap which is
`the commodity description of ¾" x .020"
`Regular Duty Strap, punched with 0.145"
`diameter nail holes, spaced at ¾" intervals.
