`
`IN RE: ESTATE OF § IN THE PROBATE COURT
`JOHN WILLIAM COX, § OF
`DECEASED $§ GALVESTON COUNTY, TEXAS
`
`APPLICATION FOR PROBATE OF WILL
`AND ISSUANCE OF LETTERS TESTAMENTARY
`
`TO THE HONORABLE JUDGE OF SAID COURT:
`
`JOHN WALTER COX (" Applicant") furnishes the following information to the Court
`for the probate of the written Will of JOHN WILLIAM COX, (''Decedent"), and for issuance
`of Letters Testamentary to Applicant:
`
`1. Applicant JOHN WALTER COX’s domicile and residence address is 8234
`Caminito Sonoma, La Jolla, California 92037. The last three digits of Applicant’s social security
`number are 673 and the last three digits of Applicant’s California driver’s license number are 147.
`
`2. Decedent died on or about May 23, 2025, in Harris County, Texas at the age of
`seventy-eight (78) years. The last three digits of the Decedent’s social security number are 450,
`and the last three digits of the Decedent’s Texas driver’s license are 630.
`
`3. This Court has jurisdiction and venue because Decedent was domiciled and has a
`fixed place of residence in Galveston County, Texas at the date of death.
`
`4, Decedent owned personal property described generally as bank accounts, furniture,
`personal effects and other miscellaneous property. The property has a probable value in excess of
`$75,000.00.
`
`5. Decedent left a valid written Will (""Will") dated April 30, 2025, which was never
`revoked, and which is filed with this Application.
`
`6. The following individuals witnessed the Decedent execute his Will:
`
`GREGORY COX, 29765 Ancestral Trail, Bulverde, Texas 78613.
`ELIZABETH COX, 29765 Ancestral Trail, Bulverde, Texas 78613.
`7. The Will was not made self-proved in the manner prescribed by Texas law but will

`
`
`
`
`
`
`
`
`8. Decedent was not married at the time of his passing. Decedent was previously
`married to DEBORAH KUAN COX, however, that marriage ended via divorce in 2023. No
`marriage of Decedent was dissolved after the Will was made, whether by divorce, annulment, or
`a declaration that the marriage was void.
`
`9. The Decedent had two children, JOHN WALTER COX and DARREN
`WILLIAM COX, at the time he made his Will. No child or children were born to, or adopted by,
`Decedent after making the Will.
`
`10. The Will does not name the State, any governmental agency of the State, or any
`charitable organization as a devisee.
`
`11. A necessity exists for the administration of this Estate.
`
`12. The Will names Applicant, JOHN WALTER COX, as the Executor to serve
`without bond. The Will is silent as to independent administration, however, the Will states that
`the Executor may sell, lease, manage, or dispose of property without court approval. The Applicant
`believes this language is sufficient to establish independent administration, and therefore the
`Applicant requests that he be able to serve as the independent administrator of the Decedent’s
`Estate. However, in the alternative, if all such language is not sufficient to establish independent
`administration, then Applicant requests that he be appointed to serve as the dependent
`administrator of the Decedent’s Estate.
`
`13. Applicant is not disqualified by law from serving as Executor, accepting Letters
`
`Testamentary, and is entitled to receive such Letters.

`
`
`
`WHEREFORE, Applicant prays that citation issue as required by law to all persons
`
`interested in this Estate; that the Will be admitted to probate; that Letters Testamentary be issued
`
`to Applicant; that the Executor be given the power to sell, and that all other orders be entered as
`
`the Court may deem proper.
`
`APPLICATION FOR PROBATE OF WILL
`
`AND FOR ISSUANCE OF LETTERS TESTAMENTARY
`
