Boolean Searches: AND, OR, NOT
Boolean searches allow you to combine keywords and phrases to search dockets. Below are some examples of boolean searches.
Find dockets where two keywords are within a certain number of words of each other. Proximity searches are useful to find keywords used in the same sentence or paragraph.
Wildcards allow you to expand your search to find similar words.
Search for keywords within particular fields to find parties, judges, or dockets.
Use quotes to find an exact match.
- "preliminary response": Matches the exact phrase preliminary response.
Use parenthesis to combine different queries.
- notice w/10 (decision or order): Matches the word notice when it is used within ten words of either decision or order.
